Festival Judges: 2009

Bruno Miotto
My name is Bruno Miotto, I'm 26 years old and I come from Italy. I have a Degree in "Communication's Sciences at the University of Turin with a thesis in Semiotic of Text on "Mulholland Drive". I worked for 2 years and a half in the Advertising field as Art Director for international agencies in Milan.
Then I decided to move to Los Angeles (October 2008) to follow my passion for films. I'm finishing my One-Year Film making Course at New York Film Academy - Universal Studios. (October 1st 2008 - September 1st 2009)
In the past six months I won the Brett Ratner Grant in my Academy. I made 3 short films, 2 Music Videos and a Promo for independent bands. I've been selected at New Filmmakers Los Angeles with a short film "As Far as Diamonds" and at Buffalo Niagara Film Festival with the same short in the student category.
I've been Finalist at Babelgum Online Film Festival with "LOVERS".
Right now I'm working on some music videos and I wrote my thesis script "The Day The Music Died" that I'm planning to shoot this summer.
I like writing original screenplay's with original structure

Sean Abley
Sean Abley was born and raised in Helena, MT. With a BA in Theater from the University of Montana in hand, he moved to Chicago to start his career. After more extra work and children’s theater than he’d care to admit, he cofounded the Factory Theater company as an outlet for his writing and performing. While there, he wrote, directed and appeared in over 20 shows, including REEFER MADNESS (non-musical version), BITCHES, SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS – THE MUSICAL, NUCLEAR FAMILY, CORPSE GRINDERS, and P. Now in it’s seventeenth year, the Factory Theater has added a Los Angeles branch, where Sean’s Garland Award-winning play ATTACK OF THE KILLER B’S was recently produced.

A staff writing job on the YOU DON’T KNOW JACK cd-rom series allowed him to move to Los Angeles, where he quickly began working as a reality TV producer/writer on shows such as JEP! (Columbia TriStar/Game Show Network), MAD LIBS (Disney Channel), DATING GAME (Columbia TriStar), WEBRIOT, KIDNAPPED, FAKING THE VIDEO and NEXT (all MTV), REAL TV and MAXIMUM EXPOSURE (Paramount), MDN! (Spike) and the one-shot special THAT 70'S KISS SHOW (Carsey-Werner-Mandabach and VH1). He wrote and produced the pilots for ALIENS ATE MY GAMESHOW (Game Show Network), HOLLYWOOD OR BUST (E!), and WOW HOUSE (Yahoo), and worked as part of the launch team for the all-video game network, G4, producing both BLISTER and SWEAT. He wrote and produced (and appeared in!) the reality pilot MOVIES FOR GUYS WHO LIKE GUYS for Showtime, and just finished a gig as a host writer/producer for Kim Alexis on SHE’S GOT THE LOOK (TV Land).

Sean also continues to work extensively as a writer in scripted television, with multiple episodes of SO WEIRD (Disney Channel), SABRINA – THE ANIMATED SERIES (ABC), DIGIMON (Fox Kids) and MEGA BABIES (Fox Kids) to his credit. He has written pilots for MTV and Voxxy.com, and has developed several animated pilots for Klasky-Csupo including BENCH PRESSLY AND SHO-GIRL (with Ahmet Zappa, starring Bruce Campbell and Tim Curry).

Sean’s feature film writing/directing debut, the award-winning SOCKET, is currently available on DVD from TLA Video. His next three projects are all in preproduction to begin shooting Fall 2009 thru Fall 2010 – WILDCAT ROAD, SWITCHCRAFT and SOCKET 2: BRAIN CELL.

In the “Where exactly does this fit in?” category, Sean also wrote the scripted material for the MEN IN BLACK: ALIEN ATTACK theme park attraction at Universal Studios Florida.

As a feature film producer, Sean has produced NINE LIVES (Starring Dennis Christopher and Debra Wilson), A BEAR’S STORY, BUTCHER HOUSE, GAY BED AND BREAKFAST OF TERROR, and PORNOGRAPHY, which is currently making the festival rounds and will be available on DVD in 2010.

Sean created GAY OF THE DEAD, one of the most popular blogs on Fangoria.com.
